Beatriz was born and raised in McAllen, Texas, and currently resides in Seattle, Washington State. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Pan American and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Baylor University. Beatriz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and currently works at the Veterans Hospital Administration as a Suicide Prevention Coordinator. She is also an officer in the Army Reserve and serves as the Material Management Branch Chief at the 310 Expeditionary Sustainment Command. Beatriz is a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and deployed in 2009 to Afghanistan. Beatriz is dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness by providing education on signs, symptoms, and treatment options, creating awareness, and partnering with mental health organizations.
