Love, Your Future Mom: Queen Beauty DC 2019's Open Letter to her Future Daughter (Series 7-11)

Dear Future Daughter,

One day you will start dating, and that is exciting! I’m sure by now you’ve seen all the romantic comedies, love, and relationships on the big screen, happy couples on social media and so on. But you also need to know that dating, love, and relationships are not always happy or easy. It takes work for two people to love each other and stay committed through the ups and downs. But, don’t ever allow yourself to be disrespected, hurt verbally, emotionally, physically or sexually. Unfortunately, these hurtful things happen to teenage girls and even women like me.

Please be aware of the red flags and listen to your gut. When I was a teenager my first relationship consisted of all of these hurtful things. Most people ask why you stayed with him for so long, or just leave him already. If it were that simple, I would have left him before it even started. I am going to share with you how and why it got to the point that it did. Now, remember, it’s not ever the victim’s fault, but it does take two to allow these things to happen.

When Your Favorite Didn't Make the Cut at Miss USA, Is 'Robbed' The Right Term?

Go on nearly every poll and prediction site and Miss Texas USA was declared the clear winner of Miss USA by fans from day one. Connecticut was also overhyped along with California, as well as a slew of other Miss USA contenders. The sad (but true) reality is that none of these contestants made the finals during the Miss USA competition, and die-hard fans were not having it.

So, what happened at Miss USA this year?

Miss USA 2019 preliminary competition was held on April 29 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino’s Grand Theatre in Reno Tahoe in Nevada, hosted by KOLO Chief Meteorologist Jeff Thompson and Miss USA 2018, Sarah Rose Summers.

Evening gown persuades highly mannered sophistication, how well does the individual carry herself, and the wearer should honestly feed the audience's fairytale dreams.

The final competition will be aired LIVE on FOX on Thursday,  May 2 at 8 pm ET.

TOP 10 Favorites

1. Miss New Mexico - Alejandra Gonzalez. WOW, Miss New Mexico is bringing in the A+ game! Will she be the next Miss USA? Miss New Mexico's mixture of honey and canary yellow gown is giving us the Angelina Jolie vibe. Remember the infamous Angie side-slit legs at the Golden Globes?  Accentuating the piece with an emerald green chandelier earrings is a standout, and the way she presented during the competition screams Miss Universe ready.

Spotlight on Olivia Raffaele, an Australian Teacher of the Blind and Crowned Miss Galaxy Queensland 2019

Olivia Raffaele, Miss Galaxy Queensland 2019

Olivia is a 24-year-old teacher of the blind, is returning to pageantry to break down negative stereotypes and fulfill her passion for helping others. She was crowned in November last year.

When most people think of pageants they think of the show 'Toddlers and Tiaras' or something similar, which to be honest, represents this form of competition in a negative light. Pageants are not for everyone, but for some, it’s something very motivational and empowering.

As a school teacher at a blind specialist school in Queensland, she finds her job very challenging and rewarding.

Being a special educator is definitely challenging at times, but seeing my student’s progress and see them happy and fulfilled means that I am doing it right!

Pageants have often been portrayed in a negative light by the media, the general consensus is that it is a step back for feminism and is degrading; in regards to the swimwear section specifically.

A lot of people that tend to speak the most negatively are people who have never been to or participated in a pageant. I am not saying that having that view is wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, pageantry has a lot more substance than the swimwear section and the ‘fails’ that you see on YouTube.

The Journey of a Lifetime: Hats Off to Kimberly Baxter, Today’s International Woman Lifetime Legacy Queen 2018

I would like to be remembered as a woman who, even though she had a tough start to life, and learned many life lessons along the way, she became a better person for it; and she raised incredibly strong young women, who will raise strong girls one day.

We could all learn from influential, empowered, humble, and inspiring women.

Kimberly Baxter, Today’s International Woman Lifetime Legacy Queen 2018, is not only a beauty queen but a wife, mom, and a grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren. We could tell Kimberly's humility when we asked her claim to fame, "Wow, I have to think back quite a few years on this one. I survived the Palm Sunday tornado in Elkhart in Indiana, back in 1965. I was actually just a few days old when it happened, so I don’t remember of course, but I was there."

Up Close and Personal

Kimberley has been married for 26 years to Mike Baxter, her second marriage. Together, they are blessed with children Kendra and Rachel; lucky grandmom to her step-daughter, Heather & stepson, Sean; and 6 grandchildren. She studied Cosmetology at Roger’s Academy of Hair in Evansville, Indiana.

Kimberly contributes her time in volunteering at CASA, The Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, Riley Hospital for Children, Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, Prevent Child Abuse America, Warrick County Voices for Change, Ohio Valley Volunteer League. American Heart Association.

She also holds prestigious pageant titles including Miss Evansville, Indiana USA 1985, Mrs. Indiana Globe 1996, Mrs. Indiana Radiance World 1998, Mrs. Radiance World National Ambassador 1999, Today’s American Woman Curvy Elite Mrs. Indiana 2015, Today’s International Woman Lifetime Queen 2016 and Today’s International Woman Lifetime Legacy Queen 2018.
